Hi all.
Does anyone happen to know of another cheap OLED compound other than Jeri's discovery of 9-10-DPA in blue lightsticks?
With Halloween coming up I thought it would be nice to make a colour display, even blue and yellow would be fine.
Seems that the same coating technique used for the TiO2 raspberry juice solar cell might work here, all that is needed is a candle (!) and tin oxide glass.
The idea seems to be that a thin enough layer of carbon should stop the tin oxide degrading at least in the short term, also possible is to salvage and rinse a section of polymer from a defunct LiFePO4 battery as this is somewhat clear.
My experiments so far seem to suggest that candidate materials must fluoresce under UV light but not have any persistence, Flash One for All Crisp Lemons might be a good starting point.
Ideas people?
