It is not a switching regulator, it is a linear regulator. There is significant voltage across the mosfet and an overall efficiency of 27% in its present configuration.
What you have is an emitter follower circuit using a mosfet.

I cant see the schematic as this crap macjine doesnt have the java thing working. But when you say "comparator" do you mean the output attached to the mosfet switches between on/off, or that it linearly amplifies the difference between the op-amp two inputs?
for each of these 2 cases the functional conditions are very different. many make the mistake of thinking that a linear regulator can be used as a switching regulator without a time interval being added.

There is now a higher frequency component but it's still regulating linearly because of your emitter follower configuration. You need a common source configuration. Look up the class D amplifier built into the simulator.
