igbts in a mazilli fbt driver

 		hey, has anyone tried a mazilli driver with igbts? i have quite a few just laying around, and i don't really want to order mosfets. i have some 600v @ 60A (220 Icm) igbts just sitting there. the reason i ask, is because while they are insulated gate like mosfets, they switch like bipolars.

 		They'll be fine...for most power applications, FETs and IGBTs are both used as voltage-controlled switches.

 		If some of the IGBTs don't have a didoe connected across the collector and emitter, do you have to put one there? If so, what type of diode?

 		Diode no need for IGBT w/o diodes. If you wont - any super-fast recovery diode

 		... I think what Anokata is trying to say, is that yes, you do need a diode from collector to emitter if you don't have one there already.

And, any 3 amp or higher diode will work fine, the faster the better. Generally try to keep the voltage rating of it around what the IGBT is rated at.
