Hi !

I have some Autocad drawings to be inserted inthe Forum, but not all people have the Autocad program to open a drawing.DWG.

1- One solution may be convert the drawing made in autocat to the JPG format. Wath the program that may convert a drawing.DWG to drawing.JPG ? Were can I find it ?

2- The other solution may be convert the drawing made in autocat to the pdf format. Wath the program that may convert a drawing.DWG to drawing.PDF ? Were can I find it ?

or there are other easer solution to solve this problem ?

thanks

Newton

You can use a screen capture programme like MWSnap3 to convert your .dwg on-screen image to a .jpg one using 'save as' if you can't find anything better.

I use 'Paint' (comes with Windows). Just use the 'Prt Sc' (Print Screen), (On most laptops you also have to press the 'fn' (function) button. Then use 'paste' command in Paint, save as a .jpg, then use 'image' 'flip/rotate' to trim off the unwanted bits using the blue dots at the left hand side and lower edge of the picture.

I would be interested in a program that converts .dwg or .tcw drawings to .jpg or .bmp, though.

(HINT: For those people who keep posting HUGE photo's (not mentioning any names, Grenadier wink ), this method can also be used to reduce them to a 'reasonable' size. (Open the .jpg in paint and use 'image' 'resize')

AutoCAD itself should be able to. Export it as a jpeg, or take a screencap in AutoCAD.

AutoCAD 2007 and up have the "export jpeg" feature i use it all the time, but i also use a screen cap program which works when i hit the "prt sc" button for other programs, and then i use Paint.net to mod the image resolution and pic size.

Yes, AutoCAD 2000 lacks that feature so youll have mto get the view ports the way you want them, then use screen capture and a grpahic program to change from a .BMP to Jpeg or whatever. (I use Paint.NET)

Don't use mspaint; it kills quality. Download GIMP and use that.

You can use DWG-trueView from AUTODESK to view and print DWG's. It's free.
Then you can install PDFCreator to get a virtual PDF printer (this time is more than free, is a GNU program) from which you can obtain beautiful PDF from your drawings printed from DWG-TrueView or ANY other program in your system.
You can install Ghostscript and GSview (both free) that can read PDF and extract from it the pages as JPG or what ever you want in high resolution .

see you

For good quality PDF drawings just install a PDF printer. I like the PrimoPDF.

Just make sure you use Prepress quality.

I think you can install a JPEG printer as well, but I never tried those.
