The aforementioned have contributed financially to the continuing triumph of 4hv.org. They are deserving of my most heartfelt thanks.
7500V 30ma NST. I found the wire when I was going to the bus from school. I think its a part of fencing. :P its my first working HV thing. (I mean, if you do not count the tranny itself)

Hi,
One warning that I generally post is to never ever use wood as a HV insulator as this can result in unfortunate fires. Even if it's dry enough that it seems to hold out, it may be draining significant current off your nst. A jacob's ladder will work just as well if mounted directly to the ceramic insulators on the transformer.

Nice Jacobs ladder, they are lovely when they self ignite and keep running over and over :)
What were their arguments for not mounting the wire directly on the transformer? Marko is right about wood being a conductor that eventually can create a carbon track that all the energy will flow through and thus burn. Nothing wrong with wood, just isolate your current flow from it.

Hello,
Well it's not the best solution I admit as it increases the possibility of tearing off the insulators by accidentally bumping the ladder, but it seems like the simplest thing to do if you don't have any proper insulators around.
