Hi.
This idea came to me just now when looking at Youtube videos of water plasma devices.
What if I was to use a tungsten coated needle instead of a solid tungsten rod, then pump helium into the plasmoid as it begins to form?
I'd expect the plasmoid colour to change depending on the gas used.
Recycling the gas is feasible, by running the output from the top of the chamber through a scavenger to take out water vapour and other gases, then reintroducing to the chamber through the needle.
If the pressure balance is just right, then ion collisions might begin resulting in detectable X-rays (maybe) from the device.
