Hello everyone,
i have been meaning to take the time to show off my first DRSSTC for a while now but I've been incredibly busy.
Anyway, here are some of the specs.
half bridge 60n60's
doubler
ud1.3
12" secondary on 4.5" PVC form
0.12uf MMC
3"x12" toroid

I want to thank Eric, Phillip, Bart, John, and Rich on tesla universe for their help. You guys are awesome! Oh, and Steve for putting schematics up for newbies like myself ;)

Man I love your coil, so compact. Way better then my first DR ever was. Considering that is uses the same drive board from my DR1, at least some part of my DR can live on through your coil.

Nice work!

Very nice work and beautiful coil. What is your max spark length? Bus voltage?

Hi oidium45. I have almost completed my coil which has similar specs to yours.
4.375inch x 12inch secondary 30 gauge wire
13 x 4 toroid
halfbridge of same IGBT's with voltage doubler.
0.15uf MMC

What is your resonant frequency? Mine is 198khz
What is your best spark length?
What is your primary tap point?

@polonium, I have not had a chance to actually measure spark length but I would say when pushing it hard it puts out around 3ft. I am using a variac at 140v to a doubler which would put my bus voltage around 400vdc.

@Claude, I believe that according to Javatc my Fr is about 110khz. I am a few turns out from there for detuning which I believe puts me at about 11 turns or so. Originally due to poor planning my outer primary turn was around 110khz and there was no room to detune. I rewound the primary with new copper to add a few extra turns.
I was originally going to use a 0.15uf MMC but decided to keep it closer to 0.1uf upon recommendation. 0.12uf puts my surge impedance around 11ohms or so... I have approximately 1" gap between the primary and secondary, 0.125" gap between primary turns & I am using 32awg wire for the secondary BTW.
