Hello I did generatopr Marx but I have a problem with resistors. I use Russian mlt and I pierces after they surface, they tried to insulate the hot glue but Not helping anything. It supplies 40 kV

So then use more 2W resistors in series
2W resistors really aren't made for those kinds of voltages anyways so there is no surprise if they arc over. You could also use a lower input voltage to avoid needing so many series resistors but that lowers your total output voltage (unless you add more stages to compensate) and you would need to change the gap distances.

You could also put the resistors in oil, or pot them in paraffin wax, or epoxy. However the proper way is to just use more/different resistors. My 200kohm resistors rated for i believe 5w are only made for 11kv, so it makes sense.

you might be able to use indutors to. I made a doreknob marx with 1M 2w X 2 resistors with no problem. you could use table salt or copper sulfate solution in small tygon tubing for resistors. also vishay also maks a high voltage rsistor series that is a 2w 10kv type. I bought mine at newark. what sort of suplies do you have on hand
