Heh. Found this on another forum and it looks interesting.
From what I can gather it is a variant on the Joule Thief but redesigned to work best from a capacitor rather than a battery.

Obviously this means solar cell + capacitor should also work.

Anyone else run into this effect? 48 minutes of light from a single 10Kuf capacitor isn't bad considering that the brightness doesen't change until right near the end.
