Photos of the Capacitor
Printed on the side of the capacitor is " SPRAGUE 702-001-000 RED POS D37602 6808 J " I have spent hours trying to find information of this capacitor and have come up with nothing at all. I have nine of them that came out of a old stud welder. I have looked for a parts list for the welder also and was unable to find one. The welder was a,
" Nelson Stored ARC Model NSA80 Serial No. 32038 115 Volts 60 Cycles 20 Amps Nelson Stud Welding Div Gregory Industries Inc. Loran, Ohio. USA " The capacitors seemed to be in parallel. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks James

the 6808 J could mean 68000uF if it's using the pico farads standard. if you could figure out the peak voltage for the part of the circuit they were in that'd probably give you some indication as to their voltage rating. if the 68000uF is correct, and since it's a welder, i imagine the voltage would be in the 25-50v area. if you could find the RC time constant that'd give you an idea of the capacitance.
