My first ever mini vacuum tube tesla coil, with the PL 500 tube (near equivalent to the PL504, just a smaller anode rating). Pri 16 turns, feed 10, sec 5cm diameter, 10cm long. Anode supply is provided by a two-stage voltage multiplier from the mains. A thyristor staccatto circuit is installed in the cathode, and the circuit has also some fusing to protect both the tube and the cap multiplier /when I was in progress of tuning the coil, eight PL504's failed with a ruptured cathode connection, an arc-over which resulted because of too many feedback turns, had 15-16).
In the constant-wave mode I've got 3.5-4cm free-to-air streamers, 4.5cm to the ground. With the interrupter, six centimeters are achieved free to air and 7 to the ground. Not bad for a 10cm secondary eh? :D
