My friend told me he once run his nitro powered RC car under the rail of subway system(Taipei metro ,_Taipei,_Rapid_transit,_Viaducts,_Composite_bridg
es,_Taiwan.JPG ).when a train pass by,his RC car become out of control and crashed.
Why subway trains can cause RF interference? There aren't any subway system near my home, but there is a railway nearby the place I run my RC car, will electric locomotive cause interference?

100s or 1000s of amps, with inductive energy storage in every wire it passes through, being broken from time to time by sliding contact with the distribution rail or wire, which is basically an antenna km long, you can bet your bottom dollar they will be causing RF interference.

It's not uncommon for experiments with precision instrumentation here at MIT be run on a complete night schedule, working through the 12am-5am window of subway shutdown. They definitely cause big issues with electrical noise.

Electric tracked transportation systems have cause grief for communications systems since they were invented.
They caused phone systems to need two wires instead of the single wire and earth they had been using before.
Court cases, fought for years in the United States finally decided that the telephone company did not in fact own the earth under the streets insofar as preserving an electrically noise free conductor.

Of course,I know that today there are a lot of laws and regulations that prevent EMI. How can this interference problem happen? Is this problem unsolvable?

It's allowed to happen because aside from mercury wetting the rails there isn't much that can be done about it.
