So I loads of capacitors, and I was wondering what do I need
For a can crusher what is better in a capacitor, higher voltage or current/capacitance?, Do I also need loads of turn of thic wire, or less but with thicker wire?

This highest rated caps I have are400v @ 330uF, I have about 7 of them, and I have a few 400v <100uF caps.

You can't crush a can with the capacitors you have. Lets say you have 5 of the 100uf capacitors (since i have no idea how many you have or precisely what value they are), and you parallel all of them with the 7 330uf caps. That is 2810uf at 400, and 224 joules. I have seen people try to crush cans with 4000 joules of electrolytic capacitors and it still would not crush. Can crushing requires very fast rise times, so a high voltage film cap would be more suitable.
224 joules will be enough for a coilgun, but not a very big one. For a reluctance coilgun, im not sure which would be best. Your caps are 400v and pretty small so the ESR is probably low, so it will probably have a fairly fast rise time, and a coilgun doesn't need ultra fast rise times.
You need to use thick wire, there will be hundreds of amps flowing. You don't need a whole lot of turns, just experiment.
