Greetings
I am intending to build Uzzorz's 16A SMPS. (
I have done most of the required research, but have some semifinal questions.
Is it reliable under heavy load conditions?
I have a few questions on the design, which seems to be very flexible to me.
1: If I where to use a gate driver such as the TC4429, would I put it on the output of the BJT bank, or on the TL494 output? Will it be more effective than the gate transformer?
2: Could I configure the device to provide negative output as well as positive if I put a full diode bridge at the transformer's output and use the center tap as ground? (incidentally, is that tap meant to be "power ground"?)
3: Could I raise the maximum amperage to about 20A by doubling up the FETs or perhaps by using stronger FETs? (could you recommend me some?)
4: Could I use a flyback core as the power transformer core?
Thank you for your help.
Kind Regards, Ivan Kozlov.
