Hi guys
The above scr has a nice peak current handling of some 17,000 amps. Way overkill for my cap bank, but I like to overrate my components.
I've been reading up on triggering these things, and this one wants to see a minimum of 3v @ 200ma to trigger.
Thats all fine and easily done, but I noted that this guy is actually two SCR's in series, two seperate gate connections, with the anode of one connected to the kathode of the second.
Looking at the pin out I can treat this device as two SCR's in the one package, as it can be connected such that either SCR can be used independantly.
Is this how you guys wire them for coil guns / disc launchers?

I'm a little confused by what you're referring to, but if you're asking if hobbyists use 2 SCRs in series for coilguns, the answer is no- you only need 1 SCR.
People do however often put multiple SCRs in parallel to split up the current. You can also use 2-SCRs in a "V" sort of configuration if you're building a V-switch coilgun.
