I actually put a DLP Light Engine board, with the chip and driver circuits, in the Box of Electronic Junk for this forum a while back. It might have been a sister machine (maybe the NEC XT-10000 rather than XT-5000)
I still have the other two light boards and this is making me want to get back to work to Frankenstein it! ... or just use the prisms with my now complete RGB laser set.

Very interesting video. I recently ripped apart a DLP projector that we used for our home cinema theater. The bulb died, and it was much cheaper to but a new system because stuff was getting messed up. I ripped it apart, and still have not yet found a use for the board, but it has filters, SMPS, and it still has the HV starter -- Which is all SMPS.
I'm sure some of the chips he was talking about, being TI designs, exist on here too.
Crazy how much technology has changed isnt it..Sadly the main board has been trashed.

Killa-X Are those burnt resistors on the right side of the board on that second picture? It looks like they've damaged the board around them too... Probably a good thing you replaced the projector and not just the lamp.
Btw great video mike, I saw it when it poped up in my subscription box on youtube (:
