Alright, before you guys bombard me with "this thread was already made" I didn't want to resurrect an old thread with a simple question.
How come you can't take two electrolytic caps and put them in anti series, and make a non-polarized cap? That way they'd be able to take the reverse voltages fine, and at 60 hz it shouldn't/wouldn't be too much of a problem would it?
Or, alternatively, there are some high uF metallized caps I've seen from wima, enough paralleled ought to be able to give a resonant frequency of your bidding... Or, Also, you could add more turns to the primary to increase the L of the LC circuit, decreasing the frequency further.

The frequency will drift with load, the core will heat up from all those VA, AFAIK you need a Q of ~5 for this circuit to run stable (this means 5 times more VA in the primary and core than the W you put out)
