ever salvage a degaussing coil from a crt and find that the electrical tape has left all the nice copper wire covered in sticky residue, leaving it a pain/impossible to work with?
cut through the whole thing, give it a little twist with a drill, and use it as a heavy duty litz cable for a mot welder or for capacitor bank outputs. enjoy.
still looking for a use for the ~600ft of 20 awg aluminum wire i got from a giant tv.

Wind a coil with, aluminum, copper and iron wire in series. Stare at it. Then consider what precisely it's properties will distinguish it from a coil wound just with copper.
Then put your mind back in the box and carry on,
A design with windings of copper and nichrome alloy was used in a device in millions of homes for 40 years.
