I decide to build a plasma speaker.I find many schematics on the Internet. If I want to build one with good sound quality, what kind should I build? Some said PWM plasma speakers are better in sound quality,is this true?

Which one might be the best in sound quality?

And if I made my own HV transformer, will it give better sound quality and performance in comparing with TV flyback? How can I calculate the turns ratio?
Can a plasma speaker performe as good as a regular speaker?

Thanks

I would go with the second one or keep looking, i'm building this one after I get my next pay check Link2
If done correctly PWM can produce a great speaker Link2
If you wind your own and do it correctly then yes, you will probably get a better speaker then just using a regular flyback. I would not be the one to talk to about turn ratios though

You might get better sound quality using an AC flyback than a DC, but other than that I don't think theres any justification in winding one, unless you're so broke you can't afford a broken tube tv.
It's a pain to wind one, theres usually thousands of turns on the secondary and if not done right it eats itself, though it can be done if you really want to.

I would start with a 555 one so you get a feel for it, after that the sky's really the limit. Tubes, PWM, whatever floats your boat.
I can't tell the difference between most.

Class E SSTCs produce marvelous sound quality.

Is easier and cheaper for me to get ferrite core than to find very old TV with AC flyback. But I can only get EI.EE.PQ core.I also can borrow coil winding machine.
Is it possible to wind HV transformers with EI or EE core?

BTW,is AC flybacks really operate in flyback mode? Link2

Even if you have a coil winding machine be prepared to spend many hours making the flyback, but still the results are awesome. Link2

However from my experiments, a low current higher voltage arc seems to produce better sound; something you'll need a plastic insulated DC flyback to make.

I followed the circuit this:
Link2

I succeeded to make plasma.

But the noise is much bigger than the music sound.

When I stop the music , but the noise continues.....

Like no signal in TV

Can I make the music sound bigger and clear?
