Obviously it's a transformer but what kind and what can I use it for? It was hooked up to a treadmill motor that takes an input of 100vdc.

The label says:
719C2
EIA-17-9325
327 B3 MEXICO

1303679153 3781 FT0 Transformer

It's either step up for high voltage, or step down for high current, I would guess the latter, but it could be reversed.
If you have a low voltage AC source apply a couple volts to one side and see what happens on the other side.

Looks like it only has 2 wires, then its a ballast(current limiter) or a filtering choke.

Yes, only two wires. Looks like it will be going back into my box-o-parts

There's one just like that in my treadmill, as I recall it's a filter choke in series with the motor, a large permanent magnet DC thing.

Aka, line reactor. It keeps noise from the motor from getting back into the line. Usually you see them in front
of three phase setups, like a variable frequency drive running a large motor. I wouldnt toss it out!

Right then, I've been corrected, figured the other wires were hidden.
Anyway, hold on to it, ballasts are useful, especially if you get into more powerful things like x-ray transformers (and heck, even MOTs)
