Following on from advice received in other threads, I've been looking for IGBT's and found these IRGPS40B120UD,
They aren't that fast but the fall time looks pretty good, which is presumably a good thing for flyback operation.
They are also remarkably cheap over here compared to similar IGBT's. (from RS £6.26 each)
I'm only planning on running them at around 25kHz, and the datasheet says they are 'suitable' for parallelling (if required).
Can anyone see any disadvantages that they may have over alternatives? (1200V and 160A pulsed , 80A continuous looks pretty impressive for a TO247)
EDIT: I'm still studying the datasheet, but this IGBT appears to have no tail off.
EDIT 2: This IGBT seems too good to be true, surely someone can find fault with it?
