Hi, does any one try and succeeded by making crystal diffraction picture on intensifying screen ?
I want to try do it like this:
take salt crystal, drill 0,8-1mm hole in lead sheet 2-3mm thick, and place intensifying screen 5-10cm away from lead sheet, and with good camera (1000iso, 2,8, 30s or even more for exposure) take picture, and hopeful get some nice pattern of crystal :)
i have quite concentrated 80-120KV x ray source ( well, not yet, but soon)
Will it work ?? neutral

Hi Linas,

if you want to do Laue patterns, don't waste your money on some dreadful old medical relic, when what you need is a tube with an integral collimator, like these
Svetlana BS5-W and BS5-Cu of mine:

Ray Tube Bs5 Cu And W

Which I mount like this:

I would also suggest you fix your Gd2O2S:Tb screen to the front of an image intensifier, to avoid very long exposure periods.

that wasin't that hard, all i did i take around 6cm steel wall, drill hole 2mm in diameter, used some nice mononcrystall from mosfet, and 2 min exposition with intensifying screen, and after developing film i get this smile
