MOT stands for Microwave Oven Transformer, the "transformer" being the important part. If you need help powering a simple transformer, you have no business messing with MOTs. They are absolutely lethal.

IMO you really ought to start with something a bit less drastic, like a neon sign transformer. It sounds lame, but you only get one chance to screw up with a MOT. What do you aim to do with the output?

I would not be surprised in the least if 90% of us here have some degree of Aspergers. It's pretty common in engineers. The description of the "disorder" describes the stereotypical engineer very well.

In reply to some who have answered the OP, it's better to ask if you're not sure, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT COMES TO MICROWAVE OVEN TRANSFORMERS.

I would second the advice given though, YOU ONLY GET ONE CHANCE TO 'MESS UP' WITH AN MOT.
