Good day guys

a good friend of mine donated 12 z570m tubes and I decided that it is finally time to realize one of my all time dreams - build a Nixie clock. Nothing special - it is controlled by pic16f877A and it has a simple boost converter for the B+. Here some pics - hope you like it guys. Cheers smile

Nicely done. I need to build some more nixie clocks one of these days. I have some nice VFD tubes I ought to use too.

Trying to build one at the moment.

It appears that the MMBTA42 is the best bet for compact Nixie clocks, as these can be placed on a board under each tube which makes the whole assembly nice and compact.

I've used the MPSA42 in many of my clocks. There's also a Toshiba octal HV transistor array that I've used several times with success. It's nice because if you flip it around so pin 1 is in the opposite direction, you can place it almost right next to a 74HC595 and the connections are straight through.
