Questions About 2CL2FM Diodes

I'm wondering, has anyone ever seen any data sheets for these diodes which provide any information about thermal resistance? (I've seen data sheets for other diodes that give some numbers, but not for these).

The data sheets I've seen specify an "average maximum forward current @ Tair = 40 degrees C", which implies operation in air, but no details are given regarding how the diode is mounted.

Another question: How close to 20 kv peak (in air) can you get with these diodes before they flash over? Will they actually hold off the rated 20 kv in air?

Have you tried to contact someone at HVCA?

I haven't tried contacting them yet, but that'll be my next step. (Unfortunately though, for some reason I always seem to have bad luck trying to get additional information out of manufacturers).

Just to follow up, HVCA tells me that they do not have the information I asked for because the 2CL2FM diode is not intended for use in the open air, but rather immersed in oil or encapsulated in epoxy or something. (Which is basically what I was expecting they'd say).

I should've subsequently asked: Why then does the data sheet specify an average forward current of 0.1 A (max) @ Tair = 40 degrees C?
