hey, i recently saw steve ward`s CCPS Link2 and i was wondering if i can build a transformer with 2 ferrite cores (each one consist of 2 u core face to face )
hocked together_ to inc. power capability_ with a cross section area of 615 mm2 and hight of 9 cm for every one of them . i will drive them with full bridge of irfp450 @ rectified mains in SLR topology at resonance freq. of about 100 KHZ.
my question is how many primary turns i need to avoid core saturation and also MOSFETS blow up cheesey
and what is the number of secondary turns for about 15 KV
and also what`s the max. output power i can expect ..?

REGARDS,
SHADY

S,

At 100kHz, core saturation will not be an issue.

IGBTs are preferred for SLR inverters.
Scope shots?
You said flyback, is it half wave rectified?
