Hi - My nice old Eizo CRT monitir died, so I ripped it apart...
I found this part - potted, about 1" x 1" x 2" - which has only two wires going into it, and the CRT anode cable & cap coming out plus one other (heavily shielded) single pin connector. Not done any measurements yet....
Any ideas what this is - I suspect its a multiplier, but not sure...

If there's a short between the two main wires it's probably a 'CR' block, basically an eht capacitor and parallel discharge resistor, the other wire being 'earth'.
