Hi guys.
It seems a Nobel price awarded guy is either completely insane, or there is a new scientific phenomenon we have to face.

Looking forward to some reactions wink

"It seems a Nobel price awarded guy is either completely insane" Oh dear! another one.

I will believe it if/when it is repeated by a few more labs.

First of all this is not the chatting forum so if you have not read the paper you are not allowed to comment on it.

The paper reads quite well compared to many modern papers, so no sign of obvious madness. The claims are extraordinary so would require confirmation by several groups of sceptical and grumpy people before cutting the cake.

If there are quantum effects that can be exploited then you would expect evolution to have taken advantage of them so there is a glimmer of hope even if I don't think this specific effect is very likely to be true.

Well, Mates didn't say he *was* crazy, he said it is either that or a new phenomenon. I am leaning toward crazy, but hey, i have a fairly open mind...

No scientific discussion? Nobody here has anything to say. Ok, I'll try it, somebody can add something...

Arguments against lunacy:
- Well known scientist awarded by the highest award a scientist can imagine
- It is a work of a team, so it seems there are more people involved (collective hallucinations, blindness caused by adoration?)
- At least the first part describing the DNA EM waves seems to be relatively easy to reproduce (btw. any suggestion how to make such coil and amplifier, because I could easily give a try in my lab)

Arguments for lunacy:
- If DNA dissolved in pure water works as EM generator where it takes energy?
- If water can imprint DNA information (through polypropylene plastic wall of hermetically closed tube) how is it possible that DNA polymerase used in the PCR reaction can read this information as a template? (or should we call it ghost-dependent DNA polymerase wink - where did they buy it?)
- Why the scientific paper do not include standard part called Material and methods?
- Why in the scheme of the apparatus shown in the paper do not include a Faraday cage despite for such experiment high quality shielding is a must

the methodology look a bit light to me ,also ,no hypotheses on the why or how of those frequency generation witch would be the first step toward understanding, beside (I am not a biologist) the emission of em field by single molecule is possible but that they all behave in concert as to be pick by a single coil would be expected to come from a all different phoneme what are we talking about ?resonance frequency or Democratic decision?
bah,I suppose being critic is healthy and keeping a door open for the unknown as well...
