Just make sure your design allows for flexibility, his didn't. He had the base of the tube bolted to the plexy, then the buss bars screwed to the plexy also. When he tightened the clamp, it had no play and cracked the tube. Good luck!

I could use something like they use a car battery connector only a little smaller?

thanks for doctoring my design
You can jump start a car with such clips since its for a very short period and when charging a battery you are nowhere near the starter engine load.
That tube draws 20 -27A continues and will need some proper connections, just make them flexible with copper strap, flex or several thinner wires in parallel connected between the clamp on the legs and source :)

Agreed, look at the design of a lot of sockets (and plugs) and note the fact that they allow they often allow the pins to "float" to allow for self alignment. Where he mounted the Ali bars to the Plexiglass he should have drilled the holes for the mounting screws oversize and then not done the screws up tightly (and probably put washers between the screws and the Plexiglass). Mind you, you also need to check whether the Plexiglass can take the heat that it will be exposed to. A thick Paxolin sheet may be better? But I don't know much about these tubes.
