Ok, so i have this circuit board which has a laser diode soldered on it. The laser diode itself has a heatsink on which is glued. As far as i know acetone can dissolve almost any glue. So the question is, can i put some acetone on the glue to dissolve it or is this going to damage the laser diode?

Can you post a picture of it? If this is an exposed die style of diode (open can or chip), acetone will destroy either the facet or potentially the die itself.
