I would give careful thought about getting involved that TV combo. Watching your posts it would seem that your time would be best spent on forward leaning rather than backward leaning technologies. Remember,you already know far more now than the people who built and maintained that thing.
Take the time to hone math/physics/chemistry basics. Then, after you have worked your first high paying job and want a hobby, you can divert such as that old pig from recyclers.
