Technically it is not an eel but a fish.

I have raised actual eels, and they are surprisingly loud creatures for their size.

A few guys in the IRC and I where talking about this Wiki article GluD found.

In it, it states the following:

It is with such a battery that an average electric ray may electrocute larger prey with a current of up to 30 Amperes and a voltage of 50 to 200 Volts, a similar effect to dropping a mains powered hair dryer into a bathtub.

Can someone find a more comprehensive datasheet on the eel or ray?

What do you propose the schematic symbol for these should be? The circle with the squiggly line is already taken...

I wonder if there is a way to take the cells that make the charge on an eel, remove the eel part and make a bio battery....

Biotechnology is going to be exciting.
