If one diode has a rating of 100v reverse, can 10 be attached in series for a 1000v reverse rating?

You will need to derate and balance the voltage unless they are avalanche rated.

so is it possible to get a schottky for 900v/50A? I've been looking but can't find this combination. The fastest ultrafast I've found is 85ns near these values.

The problem is that schottky junctions have very high reverse currents especially at high temperature. For a power schottky it is easy to have 100uA of reverse current at 125°C.
So, balancing resistor have to be designed taking this into account.

See my other comment on silicon carbide Schottkies. Silicon carbide power JFETs are also available, for the deep of wallet. (Yes, Nelson Pass has built an audio amp with them: they're so expensive that they simply must sound brilliant.)

And please quit starting so many random threads, you have over 100 threads related to your induction heater project, or should I say the 4hv community induction heater, since we practically designed it for you... tongue
