In this circuit Link2
If i wanted to run the logic section alone on twelve volt. would cutting out the 7812 and putting 12v+ into where the collector of the 2N3904 joins up the top and then say 50v into the top of the flybacks primary. would that work? i just want to run this at a higher voltage. thanks

7812 is 24-30 volt max, maybe 40V but I am sure not 50V, and there are spikes, so you will blow your voltage regulator,

maybe a LM117 is better fot this, google the datasheets for it, they give plenty information.

cheers wink
