Hi all.

I'm experiencing some recent problems because someone next door is using one of those wireless TV "sender" beasties.
Needless to say it is doing evil things to the signal, etc.

I have one of those same transmitter/receiver sets with a pair of receivers.
Reckon its simple to hack the receiver's circuitry (has a 4 way switch) to rapidly tune through the wireless range and display a bargraph of overall signal to find the best frequency?

thanks, A

If you are worried about wifi signal, you can try using software like wildpackets omnipeek (or w/e they call the free trial one), as long as they support your wireless card it will scan through the channels and give you a bargraph of detected signal across the spectrum (but don't trust it to much, as far as i know its just looking at the signal level stats that windows would get to see, which we all know are pretty unreliable)

If all else fails just fire up a magnetron for a few days and see how long it takes them before they decide that cables are the way to go wink

If you make the magnetron go on and off randomly throughout the day it would be more annoying and frustrating.

"Hey look the tv works again! wait, no it isn't. Fuck this I'm getting the cable"

turns out my router was slowly dying, as it bricked itself the next day :( anyone know how to debrick an 834G V4 (I have JTAG acquired firmware from its replacement) , ta.
it reads and erases fine but won't write.

Check THIS out Link2 how to DIY your own wireless booster for one of those £15 USB wifi cards..

Combine with a cheap foil backed foam dish and you could transmit wifi several hundred meters :)

EDIT:- found the problem, as the wireless problems were persistent and annoying. Seems someone is using a 2.4G cordless phone and its "spewing" all over Ch 11 to 16 :(

Link2

reset wireless to a lower frequency and all is well so far.
