VB dll's and gzip

I need to gunzip some data in vb. I found modified Z-lib dll's that can do this, but I'd like to avoid external dependancies...

a) does anyone know of an vb class that does the same thing?

b) is there any way to 'embed' a compiled dll in a vb app so I don't have to distribute a file (apart from packaging and deploying the file itself as a resource).
