Hi All, I am looking for advice with my wireless network please. I have a belkin combined wireless router and modem. My home pc is connected to printer etc and is connected to router via wireless usb adapter. I have laptop also and want to print through the home pc. Currys blokey said I need print server but thought I would ask advice of some experts first my printer has no network port so is just connected via usb Cheers Colin

If you turn on file and printer sharing, go into the printer control panel, and share that printer. You should be able to use the add a printer wizard on the laptop to find it.

I was looking into networking my printer too, but I think when you enable file sharing it makes your computer security more transparent to the internet and more prone to picking up a bug.

So long as you are behind a firewall printer/file sharing won't put you at risk. However, for computers that might get off your network (say a laptop you take down to the local hotspot) you absolutely, 100% must disable all printer/file/etc sharing.
