Hi all. Does anyone know of a free ad-sponsored or other program that converts between .mpg and something that will work on the Iphone etc?
So far all I can find is QT Pro ($40) or some noname program ($46) Neither of which is acceptable IMHO when this functionality should be built into Windows.

I have had good luck with avidemux, sometimes it takes a few tries to find the correct combination of settings to get what you want out of it, but it has always given me what I needed in the end. VLC also works in a pinch if you have it installed already

OK, thanks for that. Trying Handbrake as this has worked for me before, seems the version I had was about 4 versions old and didn't work on 7 or Vista. EDIT:- ".NET 4.5 wont install on XP" WHAT TRICKERY IS THIS??!?!?! -A "Bother!" said Pooh, as the TSA banned laptops...
