hii
i wanna ask if voltage multiplier with my DC flyback is it work and if it work or not i want trusted design for voltage multiplier (( capc. voltage )) i think 3300 nf 4 kv is ok ???
i have my owm chuber transformer is it work on any diodes& capacitor

Check your flyback oscillator for output, is there a spark. Check your wiring against your circuit. Are your components tested good?

The only way of 'multiplying' a DC voltage that I can think of involves voltage summing.

For example, 10 identical capacitors are charged to a voltage E, and then connected in series, so that the total voltage across the capacitor string is 10E.

It is possible to do this mechanically: the capacitors are charged in parallel, and then connected in series by a mechanical switch to add all the voltages together.

It is more usual to use electronic switches. I will divide these switches into groups, and give examples of each:

Spark gap
Pseudospark gap
Trigatron

Krytron
Sprytron
Thyratron

BJT transistor
MOSFET
Thyristor

Solid dielectric gapped switches
Liquid dielectric gapped switches

All of these switching devices can be used as the switching elements in the voltage summing circuit called the Marx Generator, but only the first three types of switch - the different sorts of spark switch - will be suitable for use at the output voltage of your flyback.

You can also 'multiply' a high DC voltage with a device called a Vector Inversion Generator - VIG - where a pulse, and the reflection of a pulse returning down a transmission line, are added together to 'double' the voltage.

A mechanical switch can really be used, as in Planté's "rheostatic machine":

How wonderful, Antonio! smile

I think there is still a good case for voltage addition using mechanical switching in some specialised one-shot devices.

A description of the "rheostatic machine" appears in this book:
