I wouldn't say a bad thing per say. Just a weird thing. It probably wouldn't work with a different police radio either. It must be two weaknesses in the design, one in each radio, that lets them do it. It would require a poorly designed amplifier or maybe just an inductor in the Goldstar to broadcast the signal, and from the sounds of it, something in the front end of the police radio is poorly designed and prone to interference from nearby RF sources, and just happens to line up with the leaking RF from the Goldstar.
Just one of those 'Ghosts in the Machine'.

it sounds your right.
It did pick up a loud 60hz tone when I pluged it in the bathroom where my cordless toothbrush charger was...
This is just begging for it to be used in small tc.......
