Hi, i'm new to the forum wink
I'm looking to build a smallish Tesla coil, would this one be good enough. I think it's 7.5kV, so i'm guessing it's ok?
Thanks!

It would, but I'd go with an NST instead. OBITS require external current limiting, otherwise they burn themselves out.

Anyone know anywhere where i can pick up a NST then? The cheapest i can find one is about £60 after postage in the UK.

This is NOT true. Oil Burner Ignition Transformers (OBITs)are intended to be powered directly by AC line voltage; no form of current limiting is required.
15 seconds of Googling would have yielded more information about the Danfoss OBITs: Link2

Because these are solid-state, high frequency modules, they probably won't work for driving a conventional AC spark-gap Tesla coil. However, because of their high frequency AC output (20KHz) they might be suitable for use in a Cockroft-Walton voltage multiplier.

Thanks. There's one going very cheap on ebay at the moment so i might give it a go. I don't have the money for an NST right now and since this is my first coil i'm not expecting much.

If you go to neon sign shops and ask nicely they might give you one of their olds NSTs

its a switchmode NST, not usable for a SGTC unless you rectify it (but you still cant benefit from the resonant cap charging like with a line frequency NST).
