I did a little writeup on kodak disposable camera circuits. I also figured out ways to minify them. I know how much you guys hate big pictures, so I put it up on my website. Link2

Thanks for that. I have boxes of those cameras waiting to take apart.
The problem is also scrapping the lenses , they might be handy some day. I also keep at the tiny screws that dont fly away.

The lenses are pretty much useless. They're acrylic and uncoated, and aberrate a lot.

Nice writeup. I was playing around with these circuits just yesterday actually. But instead of modifying the pcb I just took out all the components and soldered them in the "dead bug" configuration. :p

I made two of them. One makes about -470v and the other about -350v, both with a single AA. One was a yellow board and the other blue, but my yellow has a -v output not positive, I guess that's just the way I wired them up. There are a few ways you can do it.

They're neat little circuits.

BTY you should add the little yellow 22nF capacitor across the output.

It's easier and faster to just snip up the board. This rig of yellow boards will charge a 2940uf bank of camera caps in about 3 minutes.

I like how all the neon lights glow when the caps reach 275V.

Nice! I wanna try and find some more of these circuits and try that. So all the ins and outs are wired in parallel? I wanna get one of these and try it. Link2

Yeah, everything is in //. Also, those caps are all sold out! Plus they are 400V. And plasmana didn't include the cap in that circuit (for good reason I suppose). The cap makes it hurt MUCH more.

Yeah I know they're out. I hope they get some more in soon. But just because they're rated for 400v doesn't mean you have to charge them up to a full 400v. I may be missing something.

Also what do you mean he doesn't include the cap, yes he does? I'm taking about the little yellow foil cap, not the photo flash cap. Link2

Yes, I didn't add the flash cap for safety reasons, not everybody knows the danger of HV and may shock people in 'sensitive' parts of their body or shock people who may have weak hearts. The 22nF capacitor can still give you quite a nip though!

Alright I'm stumped. Putting the yellow boards in // doesn't increase the current they supply, and a cap charges just as fast with only one. However //ing the blue circuits, they work as expected --charging caps faster...

Anyone know what's going on? I can't figure this one out.
