Has anyone dealt with "minerals-water" on EBay? He has 100% feedback yet he has failed to respond to several enquires from me and his price for 1kg of KNO3 seems to have shot up from around £2 a kilo to £9 a kilo in the space of a day. My instinct says avoid, anyone know of any other UK EBayers supplying chemicals that are reliable?

yeah watch out guys, even buying glassware (including ornamental stuff such as glasstube shaped candles) can raise some eyebrows, had this happen to me once. "what are you doing with all that glass?!!"
on the flip side, if you don't mind trawling through utter garbage charity shops are a great source for that hard-to-find glass item, and they appreciate the business.

To give him the benefit of the doubt apparently he was rushed into hospital with Pneumonia hence lack of reply, apparently the £9 price hike was to deter people from buying while still keeping the item listing and history active (seems a bit weird to me, why £9? but his email seemed pretty genuine) He also does persulfate etchant which I use a fair bit so I may try him out on that as it's quite cheap. As to explosive laws, yes I'm in the industry and well aware of them TBH I could buy via a friends company but he's quite busy so I don't like to hassle him and EBay prices aren't that much different.

Martin.
It all sounds totally bogus to me, so use your loaf man, and stay well away.

Maybe, but he's posted his address and is happy for collection (although I'm not going to collect), plus buying something cheap and low risk (sodium persulfate etchant) as a test doesn't put me at too much risk. I've been around on the web long enough to know the risks (hell I was on line via acoustic couplers before the web even existed) so I'll proceed with caution.
