Hello,
I came across this transformer intended for neon signs, but the specifications on its label are a little confusing. It says 4000V and 110ma but the wattage is 3W. It's obviously not 3 Watts, but it looks too small to be 440W. Any ideas?

As you load the transformer, the voltage output drops so the output will either be max 4kV 0mA to 0V at 110mA. Somewhere in between these two extremes, the product of the current and voltage should be about 3. I guess.

If you multiply 0.11 A by 120 V you get 13 Watts which is a reasonable power level if the neon tube was connected and was running at 2000 volts and 7 mA. ( 50% voltage operating on secondary. ) 13 watts sounds reasonable for one of those neon bar- stand-alones. I've got 2, one in the shape of a beer bottle , the other a cocktail glass.
