What a great way to generate some good will. Maybe start quoting prices for fixes after you punctuate your post. wink

I do repairs as a hobby myself, but mostly on tractors and such. My father and older brother has a rather violent farming style, so i have plenty of work to keep me busy. It makes me feel useful, so i dont mind.

It all depends on whether or not you feel like you should be doing something else. I for one never show anyone my abilities with computers. I play dumb, and no one ever asks me to fix their junk. It's nice.

Wait for the world economy to crash plunging us all into a second Dark Age, then advertise your skills to the local War Lord and you may make some money.

Chris, do as I do. Small jobs are free, mid-sized ones cost a case of suds, big jobs (like rebuild my engine) cost just less then commercial price. You make some money on head gaskets and they get the "i have a helpful friend" feeling when you fix their busted tail lights.

How much fun is trying to get that head gasket to sit still when you drop the head back on it? ;) What kind of rear diff does your truck have?

There are few things worse than being exploited when you are simply trying to be friendly. I know I'm being exploited when the "help" doesn't go both ways.
