hello,

I have some seemingly old parts,
I just wondered if anyone here knows around what year where these packages/devices popular or made?

the round diodes are 600V 6A diodes: Link2

the can packages with multiple leads are comparators (LM311H-8111), advanced voltage regulators, etc,
and the red things are diodes as well.

radiotech, are you familair with general electric SCR very well?
I have a few stud SCRs, GE C37D, and I cannot find datasheets anywhere on this part, do you happen to know of a source for finding old datasheets?

The GE 37D is a 400 volt 25 amp TO 48 package- data is in the condensed specifications on page 431 of the 4th edition manual (1967) and that is the only place I saw it.

Things vanish from data manuals. Also this is a non-jedec number.

Thank you radiotech,
im building a 90 degree phase angle controller, and I just did not want to use my bigger studs for this job.

Could you post a schematic because I dont know exactly what a 90 degree phase angle controller is.

Thanks for the dwg. I thought a capacitor was used somewhere in the gate circuit..

btw I am in the old location with portable computer, looking at stuff, etc. Here are some views of some cells that are here: 150 amp 600 volt; the white thing in one view is a 250 amp fuse

well, it can be like here: Link2

however, I do not need this circuit, since I only want 90 degree control, so the first one should do.
in the schematic ive posted,
the diode prevents negative voltage, and if you move the pot "down" the resistance is at its highest, and the SCR will not fire until the peak of the AC cycle, and if the pot is moved in its oposite direction, it will trigger at the beginning of the half-cycle. (well, at least between the 0 and 90 degree)

some very nice equipment you have, what machine did that come from?

A paper machine drive made around 1966 was replaced with a modern digital controlled SCR drive around 1995 or so. Those working on the project were granted permission to remove parts since the old drive was scrapped. All the machinery remained the same except the tachometers were replaced with resolvers.
