In the short term, try adding Apache password protection to the site root that only current members know.
Redirect non-members to a static file "wget" incremental copy of the site with mod_rewrite. Google search and new member intake would remain intact.
This is kind of annoying, but even my sites on CentOS have the odd quirk once in awhile. To create file list: find . -type f -exec sha1sum {} >> checkup.sha1 \;
cron job to list file checks: sha1sum --check checkup.sha1 2> /dev/null | grep FAILED

Hello all,
Unfortunately, the last week's worth of posts is gone. Appreciate the security suggestions, but this was a hardware failure. The server's primary HD failed catastrophically and had to be swapped out. Will make a more detailed post on the front page when time allows -- still working to put everything back the way it belongs.

Unfortunately, no. The datacenter is a secure datacenter -- only blank hard drives in, and the only way they leave the datacenter is degaussed and shredded.
