Hey all.

I recently came into ownership a bunch of capacitors. I have sorted them out the best I could.

500v disc caps, 73 of them.
100v axial caps. 60 of them.
400vdc axial caps. 78 of them.
200v axial type caps. 28 of them.
100v disc caps. 13 of them.
25v disc caps. 86 of them.
And a whole bag of random caps.
Also a bag of random high voltage caps.

I'm looking to either sell them (make an offer) or trade them for a couple decent flyback transformers.

If you are interested please PM me or send me an email.

Check your PM's, not that a post was necessary. But it shows there is some interest wink

Looking for AC. Something to drive my Tesla coil.

AC flybacks are no good for Tesla coils. They'd have to be externally rectified, which would cost quite a bit to make a suitable rectifier. DC LOPT's will work well, but they won't last long in Tesla coil type circumstances.

If you use an ideally suited capacitor bank such as WIMA, or CDE, if you make the secondary right, and if you tune it right, you could get great sparks with a Flyback on ZVS driver.

100 watts is enough. If you run the LOPT at about 15 volts into a ZVS driver and get it to pull around 7 amps, you would probably get 20Kv and enough current for a 5nf or so cap bank. Also, use a rotary spark gap if you can. A string of high voltage MOVs, a power resistor, and some RF bypass capacitor would ensure the LOPT lasts long enough to make plenty sparks.

I cannot guarantee my LOPTs health, but i will test them at some very high voltage to prove they are good... If you'd like, i can include 2 650pf 20kvdc doorknob caps... If you series them, they will greatly help with RF kickback. Then just get something like a 20 watt wirewound resistor at a few Kohms, and a safety gap (and hopefully some MOVs) and they'll last. Don't attempt to use these capacitors as a tank cap. They are high current rated, but not pulse. They work great for vttc tank caps.

Gah. Thats what I meant to say. DC. I have most of the set up done, just need a new LOPT. Though one of them will be used to power a series of plasma balls. :P
