Where can I get 4" to 6" outer diameter polycarbonite or acrylic tubing for winding a secondary on for a reasonable price? I looked at McMaster Carr and Tap Plastics and both of them charge over $100 for a section of 6" tubing. I suppose I could also use PVC tubing if that is cheaper. Thanks!

In the US, the majority of Tesla coil secondaries are wound on PVC pipe; Schedule 35 SDR (Standard Diameter Ratio) pipe has the thinnest wall thickness and is perfect for secondary coilforms.
Three to five foot long remnants of 4", 6" and 8" PVC pipe are almost always available at construction sites. Stop by as soon as the site grading begins, ask to speak to the site supervisor, and explain that you need a section of scrap PVC pipe for a science project, etc.
