Almost everyone I know in this hobby has some sort of pets in the house (dogs & cats). I have mostly seen dogs split into other areas of the house & I had thought that was due to high frequency squeals from transistors, arcs, etc. It appears obvious that they don't enjoy it or have a deep instinctive fear.
On a serious note; should special issues be addressed so as not to have a torturous atmosphere for pets?

Thermally decomposing Teflon releases a gaseous toxin that apparently is deadly to birds, e.g. expensive talking parrots, etc.

Your Dog's Response: you didn't buy those for me? My bad. *lick* (can you really be mad anymore, c'mon)

On ultrasonic noise bothering dogs: my understanding was that, for sound, with increasing frequency propagation distance decreases. Just put them outside?

My Norwegian Blue seems to have no problem with the Teflon fumes. Such beautiful plumage.

I can vouch for Dr Spark's cats. Completely nonplussed by the kilowatts of coiling power.
